Temperature | Ficus are pretty chill about a range of temperatures. Anywhere between 10 to 29 degrees is all good. Hotter might be a worry. Cooler she can do but don't be caught slipping with over-watering if you're going below 10 degrees often in winter.
Watering | Rubber plant likes to dry out between watering sessions. That generally means that I water mine once a week in the spring and summer, once every 2 weeks in the fall and winter. But it really depends on how much light and heat your plant gets.
Fertiliser &Soil | To help establish your rubber plant, fertilize sparingly ten inches away from the base, tri-annually with a slow time released product. Unfertilized they will tend to grow at a slower pace. Note: The heavy salts in cheaper fertilizers will damage the roots and possibly kill the plant. Its best to use a brand you know and trust. This plant enjoy a well drained, general potting mix easily found at your local box store. Remember try to stay away from arid or wet, mucky soils. |
